Computer numerical control, known as CNC, refers to high efficiency automated machine tools which are composed of the machinery and numerical control system and used in processing workpieces of complex shapes.

CNC, equipped with a tool magazine and automatic function of tool change, is machine tools which can process workpieces for multi-functions after they are loaded. CNC is high degree electromechanical equipments in that after the workpiece clamping, the numerical control system can control machine tools in automatically selecting, changing and checking tools, changing the speed of spindle and feed and can thus continuously complete multi functions such as drilling, boring, milling, reaming, tapping, thus greatly reducing the time for workpiece clamping and for other auxiliary processes such as measurement and machine adjustments, which proves to be very effective in processing the parts of complex shape, high precision and requiring frequent replacement.
